Adopt a bench
program for city towns villages parks parks
recreation furniture public works new park, trail and
downtown sidewalk benches can be adopted (donated) to
the Town or City.
Would you like to adopt a bench in
The Park in your favorite area of the Park, select
three or four benches that you particularly like we
suggest you select more than one in case your first
choice is not available. Most benches can be adopted for
a donation of $7,500, with a few hand-made “rustic”
benches available for a minimum donation of $25,000.
Multiple donors can contribute to the same bench through
honorary or memorial funds. Full payment must be
received before you can reserve a bench. Bench adoptions
are fully tax-deductible, and payment can be made by
check, credit card, or stock transfer. When you adopt a
bench, you choose the inscription for a plaque. Once
approved, it takes approximately six to eight weeks for
the plaque to be produced and installed.
This is a wonderful and unique gift to
give and will last for the life of the bench. The
donation amount for each bench varies, due to
transportation cost fluctuations. The fee includes the
cost of the bench, freight, taxes, installation and
maintenance.
Adopt-a-Bench Program: (Your City Name) has
initiated an "Adopt a Bench" fundraising program that
will result in the placement of high-quality, low
maintenance benches throughout the trail and park area.
Proceeds from the effort will also go towards
construction costs and the procurement of other park
amenities. Contributions are tax deductable.
Park Bench Adoptions provide city
residents and visitors with a comfortable, lasting place
to sit and enjoy Winter Park. The benches are permanent,
and your donation includes a plaque which can be
inscribed with your personal message. This is a
wonderful memorial for a loved one, or celebration of a
major life event.
Adopt A Bench Park funding
though less directly visible than
landscape improvements,
reconstruction of park
infrastructure to function more
efficiently and effectively
comprises a significant portion of
our capital work in the Park.
Improvements to provide more
efficient drainage and irrigation
infrastructure contribute to
healthier, more sustainable
landscapes. In renovating and
reconstructing facilities, look for
new and creative ways to conserve
resources and provide for more
efficient facilities.
Appearance and Aesthetics
The City and community have an
interest in ensuring the best
appearance and aesthetic quality of
their public facilities. Park
elements should reflect the
character of the park or facility.
All items in the gift program have
been selected in such a way that
they will not substantially change
the character of a facility or its
intended use.
A fundamental aspect of much of
restoration work is simply
ensuring—through effective turf
restoration, planting, and pruning
to allow sunlight to permeate tree
canopies—that the landscapes are
green. A consistently vegetated
ground plane represents the single
most significant contribution the
Park can make in terms of storm
water management and moderating the
temperature effects of the urban
heat island.

while leaving a great legacy within our urban jewel,"

Honor and Memorial Benches – Adopt a Bench at Denver Zoo
A commemorative bench is a wonderful way to give a gift
in honor or in memory of a loved one, while giving a
gift to Denver Zoo. Your gift will provide a lasting
tribute for generations to come, as well as support the
mission and programs of Denver Zoo.
Many families and friends choose to pool together their
donations in order to acquire a bench. Denver Zoo
handles all of the details and collects the donations
for the bench; you do not have to gather the funds on
your own and send one check. Benches are located
throughout zoo grounds. Once you have selected an
available bench, a brass plaque with your personalized
inscription is affixed. Brass plaques are approximately
6 inches by 2.5 inches and can fit up to five lines of
your personalized inscription.
